Profile

The Department of Commerce was setup in 2018 offering B. Com Finance course with a student strength of 40. Now we have expanded to include 157 students. The mission of this department is to provide quality education in Commerce and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges and requirements in the business world. The department offers the under graduate programmes affiliated to the University of Kerala under Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS).

Bachelor of Commerce in Finance is the undergraduate course offered by the University of Kerala. The normal duration of the course is three years consisting of six semesters. The course aims at equipping the students to cope with the emerging trends and challenges in the industrial and business world. Along with Language, Foundation, Core, Complementary and Open Courses to the elective stream Finance, there are four electives Options - Financial Management, Project Finance, Financial Services in India and Taxation Law and Accounts are the elective options.

Dr. Antony Joseph K, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, St. Berchmans College, Changanassery has delivered an invited talk in the national webinar on “Asset Quality and Performance Effectiveness of Indian Banking Sector” conducted on 7th August 2020.
Jesley A L (Google Certified Digital Marketing Expert) has delivered an invited talk in the national webinar conducted in collaboration with the Central Library of our college on “ Digital Marketing & Online Course Creation Technique” on 13th August 2020.
