Department of Physics

The Post Graduate Department of Physics offers graduate and postgraduate degree programs aligned with our faculty’s interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise in the domains of space physics, electronics, photonics and nanotechnology. We apply the methods and approaches of the physical sciences to understanding concerns and challenges associated with scientific, technological, and environmental changes. We provide our students with an enrich- ing array of educational experiences, including hands-on participa- tion for PG students in research. The department also offers a basic platform, not only for gathering knowledge but also to revive aptitude for Mathematics and Statistics, which are the most essential tools for the modern scientists. <p>The Department of Physics was one of the first departments to be started in the college. Later, the department has developed into a Post Graduate Department in the year 2021. The Department offers a Master’s Degree course in Physics with specialization in Space Physics and a Degree-level course in Physics with Mathematics and Statistics as complementary subjects. It is one of the two aided colleges under University of Kerala to offer specialization in Space Physics at PG level. The department also provides well-equipped laboratories for physics, electronics, computer science and space physics and state-of-the-art library facilities both at UG and PG level.</p>
